Frequently Asked Questions
How do motorised curtains work?
A discreet motorised track opens and closes your curtains at the press of a button, a timer, or a voice command — no pulling or cords involved.
Can I get motorised blinds as well as curtains from Avikar?
Yes — Avikar is a blinds and curtains store in Kolkata, so if you’re weighing up motorised curtains against motorised blinds (or want both in the same room), our team can walk you through the trade-offs at the showroom or on a free home visit.
Can motorised curtains be added to my existing curtain track?
In most cases yes, though it depends on your current setup. Our team will inspect your windows and advise the best way to motorise them.
Do motorised curtains need a hub or an app?
Basic remote control works out of the box. If you’d like app or voice control, we can set that up as part of the installation.
Are motorised curtains reliable during power cuts?
Yes — you can operate them manually if needed, and most systems resume normal function as soon as power is restored.
How much do motorised curtains cost compared to manual ones?
Motorisation adds to the base cost of the curtain and track, and pricing depends on the size and number of windows. Book a free consultation and we’ll quote you exactly.
Do you install and set up the automation yourselves?
Yes, our team handles measuring, fitting and setting up the motorised system from start to finish.
