Frequently Asked Questions
How much do custom curtains cost in Kolkata?
Pricing depends on the fabric, window width and stitching style you choose. Visit our Central Avenue showroom or book a free consultation and we’ll give you an exact, no-surprises quote.
Are you a curtain shop near me, or a full curtain store in Kolkata?
Avikar is a full curtain store in Kolkata — not just a listing that turns up when you search “curtain shop near me”. We’re a working showroom at 46 Central Avenue with 5,000+ fabrics, our own tailoring workshop, and an in-house measuring and installation team, serving Kolkata as both a curtain store and drapery specialist since 1971.
Do you measure and install the curtains yourselves?
Yes. Our team does free in-home measuring and expert fitting across Kolkata, so every curtain hangs exactly the way it should — no guesswork on your end.
What fabrics do you stock?
Over 5,000 fabrics, from cotton and linen to velvet, sheer, floral prints and plain weaves — suited to everything from living room curtains to kitchen drapes and bedroom drapery. Whatever look you’re going for, chances are we already have it in the showroom.
How long does an order take from measurement to installation?
Timelines vary with fabric availability and order size. Once we’ve measured your windows, our team will give you a firm installation date.
Do you offer motorised curtains too?
Yes — we design and fit motorised curtain systems as well. See our motorised curtains page for details.
Where is the Avikar showroom located?
46 Central Avenue, Kolkata, open Monday to Saturday. Walk in any time to see the fabrics in person before you decide.
