The Avikar Barrel Chair is a study in considered design — a generous barrel back that wraps around you, a sculptural curved base in solid mahogany, and a seat that invites you to stay longer than you planned.
Handcrafted in India by skilled artisans, every joint and curve is shaped by hand — not by machine. The solid mahogany frame is finished in a deep warm walnut tone that deepens beautifully with age.
Solid Mahogany
Kiln-dried, hand-selected hardwood. Rich grain, exceptional longevity. We do not use sheesham or rubber wood which are considered soft woods.
Premium Upholstery
- The chair is upholstered in premium grey bouclé fabric — a high-performance textile woven at over ₹1,000 per metre — with natural spill and stain resistance that makes it as practical as it is beautiful. The fabric's distinctive looped texture catches light differently through the day, giving the chair a quiet, living quality that flat fabrics cannot match.
Custom Finishes available
- PU, High Gloss and Matt finises are avaiable
CLIENT VOICES
Placed in homes across India.
I was looking for something different from the usual bulky chairs, and this one stood out instantly. The finish of the wood and the comfort level are both excellent. It feels premium without being over the top..
What I liked most is the design — it’s clean, modern, and still feels warm. It doesn’t look like typical furniture you see everywhere. Adds character to the room.
Neha Jain, New Town
We’ve had it for a few weeks now and it still looks as good as day one. The polish and fabric quality are clearly better than what we saw at other stores.
Saw this at the Avikar store and decided to try it out. The moment I sat, I knew this was the one. Sometimes you just know.
Honestly, I didn’t expect it to be this comfortable. The seat has the right balance — not too soft, not too hard. I end up sitting on this more than my sofa now.
Simple, elegant, and very comfortable. Exactly what we needed.
