The Avikar Veena Chair takes its name from the classical Indian instrument — and carries the same sense of patient craftsmanship. A solid mahogany frame wrapped in hand-woven natural cane, shaped to catch the light and soften with everyday use.
Handcrafted in India by skilled artisans, every cane strand is woven by hand across the solid mahogany frame — a technique that takes years to master. The wood is finished in a warm honey tone that lets the natural grain show through.
Solid Mahogany
Kiln-dried, hand-selected hardwood. Rich grain, exceptional longevity. We do not use sheesham or rubber wood which are considered soft woods.
Premium Upholstery
- The seat and backrest are hand-woven in natural cane, sourced and worked by artisans who specialise in the craft. Cane is breathable, durable, and only grows more character with age — developing a warm patina that machine-made materials can't replicate.
