Solid mahogany dining armchair with a hand-woven white rope diamond-lattice back and a cushioned leatherette seat. Made in Kolkata by Avikar since 1971.

Named after the jali, the carved lattice screens of Indian architecture, the Jali Chair brings that heritage to the dining room. A curved back rail sweeps into the arms, and white rope is hand-woven between the rails in an open diamond lattice that catches the light and keeps the chair looking airy.
The frame is solid mahogany in a deep black matt finish, and the cushioned seat is upholstered in easy-care leatherette, made for busy dining rooms, cafés and restaurants as much as the home. At dining height, it works at the table, in a café corner or as an occasional chair in a study or office.
